Any religion where the "priests" are placed in a special status above the Laity is prone to develop such problems...all the extra pomp and circumstance draws a picture of a truly holy person who needs to be considered above reproach and those up the chain do their best to protect their own status by covering up for those below them.....as some might have covered for them before they attained their own status....

One of the reasons I went non-denominational is because regular men do the preaching, they tend to stick to Biblical Truth, and encourage one to not believe them because of their position but to please do your own research and studying to ensure they aren't misleading you.

The whole Bible is meat for the sermons/talks and Jesus is always stressed at each and every service (at least at my church). They have a small core of p[aid folks and utilize volunteers from the laity who have full and ready access to finances and inputs for policy.

No. Seriously, tell me their real reasons.

More “whataboutism”. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Every institution in society is now undergoing re-examination regarding sex abuse — anywhere there is the possiblity of a power imbalance. Take care of your own and stop worrying about the rest — their people are responsible for theirs.

Kind of like the meltdown they have over Trump being a little vulgar 11years ago when their boy is raping women in the White House.

For decades every 'media' report about activity involving the catholic 'unholy' fathers, has been ridiculed as being Satan picking on the biggest, oldest only church that counts. Someone has been tasked to go through the devilish protestant garbage, post it as whitewash over recent Philly expose. This story is over a year old... There is another thread posted that was done back in 2009... then the 'holy' can point ugly fingers of 'see' everybody is doing it.

The programmed will do whatever it takes to whitewash over their unholy church. Then they point ugly fingers accusing 'hate' when the truth gets exposed. This mess is not going to be cleansed until Christ Himself swings that two edged sword.

Trump's so called secretly taped vulgarity was right on point ... ol pervert Harvey Weinstein's exposure demonstrated every thing Trump said about what 'women' seeking celebrity and fame attention, would allow turns out to be true.

There is nothing 'holy' about the US Catholic Bishops ... They have their treasury feeding tube hooked right into the US Treasury ... we pay them billions to shepherd the illegal invasion... Thank W Bush for that expenditure to charge 'we the people' for the invasion of illegals, womb to tomb. Course the Catholics get their take off the top first. They are not the only 'fake' charity to charge US for the illegal invasion but they are by far the largest.

Yep, they are all to be trusted at arm’s length. The Catholics take top billings in the statistics, however.

This sure is starting to feel like an ‘everybody does it’ sort of preparation for what’s about to spill on high-level, widespread pedophila/pedovoria.

They’ll be a story soon on how the Shaker’s are having a sex scandal.

For sure.

One of the proper responses to reports of molestation is to go to the police and NOT the superiors of the one doing the molesting.

yes! The archbishop of the Chicago Diocese referred victims to report to his own site. I am wondering how many others in their hierarchy and giving the same advice? Good grief!
