Not guilty! And I'll buy that man another can of gasoline.

But I'd also advise him to drop the live trap, racoon and all, into a tank of water since water is cheaper than gasoline and the live trap is less likely to be damaged.

Alternately, if the pesky neighbor is going to be such a nuisance, get one of those black construction clean-up quality garbage bags, wrap the live trap in that and leave it out in the sun. Then, get up before daylight and drop the racoon in the neighbor's driveway.

“Not guilty! And I’ll buy that man another can of gasoline.”

Why would anyone advocate, or in your case, celebrate the torture of an animal? (Yes, there are raccoons where I live.) Your post reeks of evil. I don’t know you or perhaps I would express myself in greater detail. Perhaps you are just trying to be clever or funny. If so, you have failed miserably. This is the cruellest post I have ever read on FR. Go back to DU where you belong.

My son worked at a Christian camp the past two summers. Last year, they were overrun by skunks.

He posted a video one day singing “hi ho, hi ho, skunk drowning we will go” as they dropped the trap into the lake

They must have gotten them all because there were none around camp this year.

I learned long ago that this is the best method to rid a ship of rats. The crew would catch as many as possible in live traps and keep them alive until the ship makes port, then douse them with lighter fluid and burn them. The horrific screeching that they let out drives the remaining rats to leave the ship. The only alternative was fumigation, which was terribly expensive and potentially dangerous.

Later, I did achieve some success in this endeavour using ultrasonic devices, but many were needed to cover all the infested areas.
