An unusually cold late August storm system is bringing a chilly rain and some high altitude snow to parts of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho.
The National Weather Service says as much as 4-8 inches could fall in elevations above 9,000 feet in the mountains of Montana and Wyoming.
Some areas have been placed under a Winter Weather Advisory.
Colorado is on the extreme southern edge of this weather system and will be windy as it passes by.
Some colder air will filter into northern and northeast Colorado by Tuesday with highs dropping 20-30 degrees from Monday.
The cold weather is obviously fleeing from the North Pole, where the ice is melting and the polar bears are dying from the heat.
It snowed on the 4th of July.

San Diego ocean water temp avg is 68 in the summer - it is 78 now very warm. I guess it all kind of balances out, colder and wetter in the mountains, sunny and warmer at the beach.

It looks like this might not be the best time to chase Golden Trout in the Wind River Range. Then again, it is not like anyone would be fighting snow up to their eyeballs right now.
Just follow Joe Bastardi, John Kassel, Ryan Maue and some others. They all are pros and know their stuff.
I was in snow at Rocky Mountain National Park in 1990 in the middle of the summer.
They should have stuck with NEW ICE AGE they were pushing in the 1970s. The earth warming is actually a good thing. It is easier to adapt to warm weather then it is to cold.
But, we all know it was never about climate change. It was just a means to write new laws regulating our lives.

I’d disagree. Reptiles, maybe. But we mammals were made to endure the “cold”, and cannot deal with temperatures much higher than our own.

Cheyenne, Wyoming, had a significant snow on August 21, 1958. I sledded on my birthday.
So weather is unpredictable. Who would have thought?
There is nothing unusual about snow in the northern Rockies after the 2nd week in August at all. Nothing.
Ok you can go adapt to the cold by killing large animals to eat and also so you can use their skin as insulation. That’s why there are so many more Eskimos than there are Polynesians. You will also want to learn how
To melt frozen water. I meanwhile will adapt to warmer weather by eating coconuts and pineapples and sitting in the shade.
