Earth Set For a BIG FREEZE, Sun 'Totally Void' Of Sun Spots For Majority Of 2018
NN ^ | 08/30/18 | Paul Whitehead

Posted on 08/31/2018 6:34:33 AM PDT by ZeroToHero

Scientists now believe the earth is in for a big freeze due to the sun being totally void of sunspots for more than half of 2018. The sun has been completely free of sunspots for a total of 133 days this year, scientists are reporting.

There have been sunspot-free times, extended ones, in recent years... and no “BIG FREEZE!!!1!11!1” ensued.

Sunspots form when the sun has lost its dipolar field strength and is in the process of a polarity reversal. The same thing happens on earth about every 44,000 years and is the reason that the earth goes though periods of high volcanic and earthquake activity prior to a reversal.

The earth is vulnerable right now for a reverse polarity coronal mass ejection as our magnetosphere is not as strong.

Our magnetosphere is not as strong due to the alignment of the axis of the earth’s core (Magnetic North Pole) and the rotational axis (Geographic North Pole) causing the dynamo effect to minimize.

Probably....Coronal mass ejections are often associated with other forms of solar activity, but a broadly accepted theoretical understanding of these relationships has not been established. CMEs most often originate from active regions on the Sun’s surface, such as groupings of sunspots associated with frequent flares

For some time now I’ve maintained that some “professions” just do not have a decent claim for respecting their “credentials” given that it is difficult, sometimes even impossible, to test the soundness of their decisions and proposals until long after they’ve been gone, at which point it’s often too late and the damage is done.

In finances, for example, it is relatively easy to doublecheck an accountant’s work as these ultimately rest on the numbers but extraordinarily difficult to check an economist’s. As for those who live off of the churn on so-called money products (ways to manipulate money that don’t actually produce goods and services) they’re even worse.

The same can be said of engineers, doctors, chemists and so many others whose efforts or professional judgments can be reasonably double checked by others just on an examination of the available facts and numbers ... these have great claims for professional credentials where many others, like aforementioned economists or any number of humanities topics (especially the -insert here- Studies sociology phenomenon that has proliferated), just do not.

And while we’re at it climatologist are on shaky ground too unless you allow that the political mission statement of the IPCC, to find man made global warming so lo they find exactly that, is valid.

As for these socialist, in the past I’ve noted that the whole socialist proposition seems to have partly emerged in response to the Little Ice Age as hungry people were willing to accept such crap ideas as the government should take care of them.

Years ago a Canadian over at Hannity forums demanded to know who they could sue to get the global warming they’d been promised.

IIRC, in 2001 I had to turn on the furnace in early September and did not turn it off until early June 2002.

Most years, it is late November before ‘winter’ actually arrives and it lasts through mid-April.

Over the decades, I can recall some winters being long and cold and numerous ice/snow storms. Some summers have been unbearably hot with months of 100-degree days. Other winters and summers have been very mild.

They vary. The last 2 winters my area hasn’t had enough snow to even register. About 8 years ago, we had a bad winter and snowfall that broke the state record at 28.5 feet (IIRC).

Agreed, the left’s science pendulum will swing back to the 70s mantra about how manmade CO2 is causing “global cooling” and we gotta do something!

Sigh... The narrative never changes, just the science to it. The endgame is the same-one world overarching totalitarian government ( for our good of course).

I understand it, sunspots are cooler areas on the surface of the sun. That's why they are darker. So how is their absence a predictor of solar cooling?

Earth cooling, not solar cooling. There's plenty of evidence that "fewer sunspots" correlates to "cooler earth temperatures". There's also evidence that "fewer sunspots" correlates to "more carbon-14 being generated in the upper atmosphere".

The theory is that solar charged particles from sunspots help to shield earth from cosmic rays. Fewer sunspots means more cosmic rays, which means more nuclear reactions in the upper atmosphere (primarily nitrogen-14 being converted to carbon-14), nuclear reactions convert gases to solids (dust), that dust causes cloud formation, more clouds mean less sunlight hitting the ground means a cooler earth.

And is the warming now just part of the earth-effects of the solar cycles, with one range peaking just before it heads in the other direction?

Yes, that was "the year without a summer" for New England anyway and was caused by the eruption of Tambora. It snowed in July here (NE) and there are quite a few farmer's journals that recorded their experiences. During this same event, Byron challenged his friends to story writing and we got Frankenstein and The Vampyre out of it!!! So cool (literally).
The Thames was frozen repeatedly between the 1600-1840s-ish.
Winthrop and Bradford write about some extreme weather- severe winters, deep snow cover when they needed to be planting, late and early frosts, extreme heat and drought, prolonged cold rain that killed the cattle on pasture, etc. They thought our NE climate would be like England...joke was on them. Turns out white European men ARE to blame for climate change! LOL

In particular as feed for livestock will also get hit, so they can’t just go keto.
Stock up on butter and whey protein powder now!

I remember seeing that Time “Ice Age” cover in the supermarket when I was a kid. It scared me.

Also, there was a special on tv called “The Population Bomb” which also scared me.

I hate these type of fear mongers. They mess with peoples’ heads. Many of the very wound up Global Warming panickers are simply victims of these lying bullies.
