How can you POSSIBLY have a movie about Apollo and not have the flag? It was everywhere. It was on their uniforms. It was on their equipment. It was in the mission readiness rooms. It was in the control room. It was on the friggin' rocket for goodness sakes!!!!

I saw the trailer a bit ago and thought....wow....this sure seems pretty negative.

Now I know why my instincts were correct.

I agree the removal of the U.S. flag was intentional. I also agree with the other Freeper who pegged the underlying reason why it was done. Making a movie without the U.S. flag is sort of like building cars in Ohio or Michigan with the steering wheels on the right side. It's a business decision, pure and simple.

And no, I have no intention of seeing this movie. LOL.

Knowing how the industry works, I wonder if Spielberg's omission had something to do with silly union rules in the movie business. Heck -- they filmed the Normandy beach scenes in Ireland!

One of my kids works in the space industry and is a complete space geek.

He was really excited about this movie and is now upset. He may still see it but will certainly be disappointed.

It’s pathetic what these idiot filmmakers do to put their personal politics over actual history.

Wow, that’s pretty cool. My space geek son has a Boy Scout Merit badge patch (before they lost their way) that flew on a shuttle mission. It came with a NASA “flown in space” authentication card. He has it mounted similar to yours.

Not going to see this one. In fact, it is rare that I will see any in the theater. I don’t want to send them a dime. They must have run out of comic book ideas so had to drudge up the Moon Landing and rewrite history to make a buck and sell their political garbage.

I watched the trailer. i saw the flag on the left arm of Gosling only once and it’s from the front view. so you can barely see it. I suspect you can bet they’ve kept it out of almost all the scenes. No way i’m watching this.

Read an article yesterday where the director says the planted flag appears in several scenes. He just left out the actual planting scene. Don’t know if that’s true or not.
