Back in the 90s, Levi Strauss was part of the corporate pressure groups that started the Boy Scouts on the path where they have ended up today. I left all their brands behind - the jeans, the khakis, the shoes - and haven’t looked back. I think all these gun belt manufacturers and holster manufacturers need to reconsider their ad photos that often feature the Levi’s logo patch. I might even make it a thing to send a pointed note to their comment box.

Business plan: Let’s take our long established brand and make a large population of Americans want to no longer to business with us.... Good luck with that.

I always preferred Lee and Wrangler anyway.

NO MORE NIKE, NO MORE LEVIS for ANYONE in my family.

Are you with me? Will you vote with your dollars and help end the market dominance of these anti-American companies?

My mom said that back in the 1940s there were two types of Levis jeans, a cheap thin version and a thicker version.

I wore Levis since I was 4 years old in 1951. I quit in 2008 and I now use Carhartt and Wrangler. I still prefer 501s but some things you just have to discard in your life.

“American denim giant Levi Strauss & Co. announced Tuesday that it is launching a series of new initiatives to benefit groups working to prevent gun violence. “

Just make overpriced pants, you a$$hole.

Is that TOO hard?

If Levi management wants to reduce fear of guns, it should contribute to restoring firearms training and shooting sports in public schools nationwide

Buy clothes from garage sales and church yard sales.

Money actually goes for some good, and you still have something to wear.

What is it with all these big corporations always caving in to the left on every issue? Gun control, affirmative action, climate change, the homosexual agenda, illegal immigration, etc.

In 1880, a pair of Levis cost $1.80, gold or silver.
In 1962, 82 years later, a pair of Levis cost $2.60 in silver.

Today, 56 years later, they are between $40 and $60 dollars. A good indication of the inflation rate since Lyndon Johnson took silver out of the money supply and replaced it with printed notes.

I imagine the fools that will pay those outrageous prices for their “Levis” may also be stupid enough to fall for this commie nonsense. Last time I bought a pair of Levis was in the 60s.

Diamond Gusset jeans, Made in America. Pricey, but the damn things seem to last forever compared to the offshore stuff. Fit better too.

“Levi Strauss has been anti-gun for a long time. Since the Clinton years, IIRC, though they’ve been quiet about it for the past decade or so.”

Yep. I have not bought Levis since then. Been off my list for 20 years. This “can’t stand by any longer” is a lie to get publicity. Well, they are getting it. Maybe they should change their name to “Dicks’ Red Hen Jeans.”

I USED to wear Levis...but haven’t for a while.

For sure, this action makes me about the last person on the planet who will buy Levis again.

Companies should stick to selling goods and/or services, and stay the F out of politics. With a divided country, ANY move into the political arena will be guaranteed to piss off about half of your customer, and potential customer, base. If I was a shareholder, I’d be REALLY pissed, and I’d put forth a resolution to fire Chip Bergh, FOR CAUSE.

Welllll.... BYE.

“Americans shouldn’t have to live in fear of gun violence...”

Hey genius, if you don’t want people to live in fear of gun violence, make the criminals live in fear of the noose.

(OH NO! HeadOn’s a racist!) FAR, FAR, from it, but I refuse to live in fear of political correctness. The noose is a very effective deterrent, a particularly gruesome public spectacle. Note: PUBLIC!

Thanks for posting Raymann.

Levi Strauss’ CEO and President Chip Bergh wrote it Fortune on Tuesday that the company “simply cannot stand by silently when it comes to issues that threaten the very fabric of the communities where we live and work.”

“You may wonder why a company that doesn’t manufacture or sell guns is wading into this issue, but for us, it’s simple,” Bergh wrote. “Americans shouldn’t have to live in fear of gun violence. It’s an issue that affects all of us — all generations and all walks of life.

So I’m guessing that the slaughter of 60-80 million Chinese by their own government, and the continued oppression of 1.3 billion Chinese by their government, is of no concern to you...

...you condescending, hypocritical, tyrant-enabling SOB.

GFY, and the same to your company - I will NEVER buy Levis jeans again.

Last time I bought one of their products was probably around 1992.

If that.

Been buying Wrangler and Lee at Wmart for years - good enough and cheaper than Levi’s.
