A few years ago, the lady next to me on a plane had a handful of peanuts floating in a bottle of Coke.
When I asked about it, she said it was a southern black thing.
I tried it once. Wasn’t bad, wasn’t all that good.

It might be a southern thing, but I did this all the time when I was a kid, and while I am southern I ain’t black. It was a common thing to do.
