Yet another aging Democrat put on a nationally-televised demonstration of the need for Congressional term limits. Watch as 78-year-old Patrick Leahy makes reference to an email that doesnt actually exist. Senator Leahy attempts to insinuate the email in question was stolen from him SIXTEEN YEARS AGO as nearly everyone in the hearing room, including Leahys own staff, look on increasingly confused as to what the senator is talking about. For his part, Judge Kavanaugh shows a remarkable degree of patience while also managing to entrap the senator in his own confused lie. From there a badly beaten Leahy makes a hasty retreat and changes the subject.

Sen. Graham did a fine job yesterday. Sen. Leahy is freakin’ senile.
I really did like LG’s lecturing the dems, that if they wanted to pick judges, they needed to win elections.
Leaky Leahy.
Speaking of aging Democrats, why doesn’t someone take Durbin to task for making false statements against Trump? He just made the comment that Trump was an “unindicted co-conspirator” and the “subject of a criminal investigation”. Both of these statements are wrong and he should be admonished for saying it.
When are we going to have someone grow a set and put the a$$clown Democrats in their place? Everyone worries about a “blue wave” and yet we never stand up for anything we supposedly believe in.
Screw the gentlmanly conduct of the Senate. The Dems play hard-ball, when the Hell are we going to start?
When my dear Father was at the end of his life and having dementia, he thought a repairman we had in the house a few days earlier had stolen some pairs of his socks. Not money, nor his credit card, or the TV - but socks.
He was quite convinced of it, and brought it up for several weeks.
Leahy has earned his nick name of “Leaky Leahy” over the years. Now he’s so senile, he can’t remember what he leaked and thinks it was “stolen” from him unbelievable. How can anyone vote Democrat after watching that bunch of preening idiots at these hearings?
This whole exchange is an exercise in minutia. 16 year old minutia. And yes, Leahy was an embarrassment to his party. People need to know when to step down. I’m old and I love to drive, I know I will not be able to do it forever. It will be a hard day when I hang up my keys for good, but I would to it for the sake of others.
Leahy needs to do the same regarding his seat.
My mother went through something similar.
Leahy was not too sharp. He asked stupid pointless questions that made him look to be confused.
Sen. Leahy was visibly confused and seemed to have difficulty comprehending even rudimentary logic.
I watched part of the clip. He’s either heavily medicated, or having suffering from hallucinations. He’s supposed to be there until 2022. I think after this November....his state folks ought to find some way to convince him to retire.
How old is leahy? I truly thought he died years ago.
Leahy is pure evil. These Senate scumbags need to quit when they cant do the job anymore. He should be home with family but the evil, power hungry putz decided to stay in the Senate and make a spectacle of himself. I have zero empathy for this lizard looking reprobate.
At McCain’s celebration his wife looks like 90 plus...
We need TERM LIMITS.
Enough said.
“Sen. Leahy was visibly confused and seemed to have difficulty comprehending even rudimentary logic.”
And no idea of how email works.
Quite right!
Bizarre questions were a clue to mccains illness
I have spent very little time with these hearings, but it seems that the strategy with the democrats is to throw out a question with no substance whatsoever in hopes that Kauvanaugh will respond in such a fashion that will grant it substance. As in Harris’s “be careful how you answer” warning, to try to make him think she is holding a trump card. So far, Kavanaugh has spotted the deception.
