Things are “popping” a bit. We have Florence in the Atlantic, along with two systems coming off Africa, both with >90% chance of developing into tropical depressions or more, and in the Pacific, Norman (not very strong and should easily miss Hawaii), Olivia (got up to Cat 4 but “should” weaken to a tropical storm as it approaches Hawaii — heaven knows parts of Hawaii don’t need heavy rain again), and “Invest 92E” (has a moderate chance of turning into a tropical depression or more, but it will be a while before we know if it will be anything significant).
It’s all nothing too unusual for this time of year, but it IS that time of year.
Ruh-roh. It looks like NYC and Long Island are in for some of the action, a last slap from that storm. Great.
