"Or duped by a USC student, which is my theory. I ran the “essay” through https://t.co/DzkjwH5rSb. It popped as a 100% match to a USC student essay, turned in w/out citation-making it an original essay-sept 5-overachiever! Archived & submitted to the repository w/in minutes of NYT https://t.co/qg0VmywY6h This "

Too many things could go wrong with this theory. Slow down.

Wouldn’t be very smart for a student to have plagiarized a very current NYT article, particularly one that would obviously create a lot of attention and controversy, the plagiarism would be obvious right off the bat.

It would be useful to know who this student is.

I don’t know if it is accurate or not yet. I’m just putting it out there hoping we can validate it or dispute it.

Something weird going on: Search the web for that tweet about submitting to Turnitin.

It doesn’t exist.

The essay w)may have been posted on turnitin after the NYT published it. So it’s easily possible that a student just grabbed the published essay and pasted it into turnitin. Keeping my powder dry still.

This is a big nothing. Was submitted after the NYT ran it. A simple cut and paste. Not even really turned in.

IMO the op-ed was written by Sarah Jeong, and until other evidence emerges I’m sticking with it.

I'd say that's a better guess than most. It could also be a combination of 10-20 people condensed into one op-ed. In other words a pure fabrication that didn't come from anyone in the WH.

I was referring to keyword Boolean web search. NOTHING comes up except the FR post.

I just don’t see any more solid evidence pointing to anyone else than the proximity in time to the reputation-be-damned hire of Jeong and the production of this new flavor of propaganda item.

New hire comes with new idea, very straightforward, and nothing at all in this narrative contradicts the ideology and character of the individuals under discussion.

The tweet is an image, so it wouldn't.

Often people post things that way to avoid twitter police/algorithms based on keywords.

“The formulation of our “Trump-insider” character was based on an amalgamation of noble personalities from the worlds of history, literature, and cinema. We created this character not to deceive or generate so-called “fake news”, but to initiate a dialog that is long overdue and necessary, as a matter of course, to address the very real crisis we face as a nation.”

My point is that the only places it’s being discussed are FR & Twitter.

That never happens; raises questions. I tried to create a turnitin logon but I’m not in school and don’t have the needed class codes.

I’m skeptical. Bush Guard memos deja vu.
