I don't see how it means anything at all – if it was submitted AFTER The New York Times published its "anonymous" op-ed.

That's the way I read it. It was submitted to TurnItIn.com AFTER it was printed in the NYT.

I wish people could write intelligible English these days. The Internet has destroyed our ability to think and write clearly:
