That’s a good song. I recall hearing the version performed by The Moments around 1968. It was good for ‘Social” Dancing, meaning, where you get to hold the girl closely and move slowly. We played it at our Junior High Sock-Hops. We danced in the cafeteria in our socks. Literally!
That song was written by Sylvia Robinson, who had a big hit in 1970 called “Pillow Talk”. She first offered Pillow Talk to Al Green, but he passed on it, having recently converted to the Jehova Witness religion. Sylvia sang in a torchy, whispery manner, the way Eartha Kitt was notorious for. Sylvia later managed and produced music for others.
Some call Sylvia The Mother of Hip Hop, because she organized and produced The Sugarhill Gang’s first big hit;
Rapper’s Delight.
You are right. I wrote too soon. His falsetto was marvelous. I am not even sure who Stacy is.
She was more Disco. I think her biggest Disco single was "Jump to the Beat".

Thank You Simpson. I usually don’t like remakes but this girl really nailed it...........just like Barbara Mandrell made “If Lovin’ You Is Wrong I Don’t Wanna Be Right” a great song but it didn’t make me cry like Luther Ingram did.
