Playing in the daytime is for the Freshman squad.

It’s Wimberley, if they played football in the daytime in August or September, kids would die.
Up until a week or so, we had 50 days of over 100 degrees.

My understanding regarding light pollution is to cover the top of the light so that it is directed down to the ground and not also directly up. This concept has been around for long time but too many lights are still a bit omnidirectional.
I have a 10-inch telescope, well, we have several. Light pollution is a big issue.
Just turning off unnecessary lights would help a lot and also save lots of money as well.
