An Ohio town has eagerly ushered in the holiday season this year after answering the call for Christmas decorations to help a dying toddler celebrate one last time. Brody Allen, 2, was diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer in May and stopped treatments in August.

“When Brody’s chemo treatment journey ended, we made a promise to each other that we were going to make each and every single day that he had left better than the next,” McKenzie Allen, the boy’s 21-year-old sister, told CBS News. “And we wanted to do everything that we could and give him as much joy and happiness that we could, even though he only has a short time left.”

The boy’s father, U.S. Army veteran Todd Allen, said that his son does not know how sick he is, but “just wants to have fun and enjoy every minute.”

“Thank you for all the love, encouragement and prayers,” Todd Allen wrote on the Facebook page. “Three months ago we were strangers to each other. Today your [SIC] helping us through, until 4 months ago, the unimaginable. Thank you for taking the time to care.”

This is helping the parents adjust to their child’s fate.
I don’t have children, so there is much I will never know firsthand. Does having an early Christmas help the childs’ siblings too? Or would the family be better off not changing the routines as drastically. I am not judging, I just do not know and wondered what others may think about it.

I would certainly want one more Christmas with anyone in my family if given the opportunity ahead of time. Especially my kids.

The kids is 2. If giving him an early Christmas makes him and his family happy, then so be it. Why are you even questioning this?

In the future, after this youngster has left this world, these memories will help the parents tremendously.

the child is too young to know when Christmas is, I am pleased that others in the town helped bring the Holiday early for this child.

Yes, this will help them to deal with the grief. Those are some wonderful neighbors and friends to have. There when you need them the most, during the bad times.
