I know...but if the Big 10(14) went for UConn it would have brought in the best WBB school, a great hockey program (for the Big Ten hockey), a good basketball school, a great baseball school and a football school that just became FBS 14 years ago...
I am so glad my DAWGS ended up with a good(and aggressive) head coach.
They wont be able to raise 21 million and whatever it costs to buy out the assistants.
There’s no way fsu can buy him out. He signed a $30 million contract that requires an 85% buyout. Aside from how bad it would look to fire a first year minority head coach for anything other than misconduct, they don’t have that kind of cash laying around.
Secondly, they’re trying to fundraise to build a standalone football facility to keep up with all the SEC programs in the region. Kinda tough to raise all that money and simultaneously raise another $24 mil or so to buyout Taggart.
Then there is the matter of - who are they going to get who is clearly better and would take the job?
Its just fsu’s turn in the barrel. They haven’t had incompetent head coaches since the early 70s and have forgotten what its like. Everybody makes a bad coaching hire sooner or later.
No team coached by Mark Richt will ever be truly dominant.
