I love Wagner and have always wanted to attend the Bayreuth Festival.
Thanks! I love that! LOL!
I am listening to Dr. Lim now. He is awesome...reminds me so much of my own struggles.
Meanwhile...a little story. PBS, many years ago, aired the Ring Cycle four nights in a row (one opera each night) and I put the time aside to watch it. I felt it was necessary, since I am a Dramatic Soprano.
Anyway, I watched all four nights, and then , on the last night there was a wonderful scene with smoke, lasers, and marvelous special effects along with Wagner’s most dramatic music. It really seemed like the ending. But it wasn’t. After this huge scene, the curtain parted and Brunhilde sang her last song. Then it was over.
And Brunhilde was a woman of “substantial” girth and substance.
Thus...the immortal saying:
“It ain’t over till the fat lady sings.”
