man who served prison time for killing a woman in Portland in the 1990s was arrested on suspicion of stabbing a man Monday in Northwest Portland.
Dewey Craig told Portland police officers that he got into an argument with Charles Jackson, 55, at Northwest 16th Avenue and Glisan Street that ended with Craig being stabbed once in the abdomen, according to a probable cause affidavit. Construction workers at a nearby site tended to Craig until police arrived.(snip)
Jackson denied stabbing Craig to police. Jackson said Craig asked for money while they both were at the corner, Jackson gave the man a few dollars and they parted ways, the affidavit said. An officer took a knife with blood on it away from Jackson, and Jackson said it was bloody because he eats "a lot of steak," the affidavit said.
Jackson later said, according to the court papers, that he has trouble with his memory and couldn't recall using the knife.(snip)
When he was 29, Jackson admitted to hitting 29-year-old Karen Fastbuffalohorse in the head with a board outside a Chinese restaurant on Southeast Morrison Street six months earlier. She died of a brain hemorrhage.
A prosecutor at the time said evidence showed Jackson was angry with Fastbuffalohorse because she wouldn't lend him money.

I have been working on that construction project for years. Those guys probably saved his life. One of the best contractors I’ve ever worked with. F-king loons everywhere downtown. We never go into Portland unless absolutely necessary. Hopefully if we can get rid of Kate brown things will be better. The mayor is useless too.
This is Oregon where citizens vote for the death penalty and then vote for politicians that do the opposite.
Oregon voters voted against same sex marriage and then voted for politicians that do the opposite.
Jackson, who has the intelligence of a tuna sandwich, did not realize that tests can easily differentiate animal blood on a knife from human blood.
