This is the terrifying moment a giant great white shark swoops on a fisherman's catch in the same waters where an engineering student was killed by a shark the day before.

The video was shot by fisherman in Nantucket an island off Cape Cod, Massachusetts - on Sunday.

Arthur Medici, 26, became the first person to die in a shark attack in the state since 1936 the day before the video was shot.

As a teen I was fishing with my uncle off the shore of Florida.

We were catching King Mackerel. I had what would have been the largest of the Mackerel on the line and reeling it in toward the back of the boat when something struck my fish.

It pulled me to the back of the boat and I was then holding on to the fishing pole over the back of the boat with one hand trying not to loose the pole.

Reeled in the largest Mackerel head of the day.

I have almost the exact story! I was on a charter boat, my uncle was there, I fought that fish for 45 minutes and suddenly my line fed out for about 45 seconds straight and then...nothing. I reeled in a King Mackerel head that the captain of the boat said would have been the catch of the day.

This was off of Dauphin Island, Al.

What a coincidence.

I have a similar story, off of Cape Hatteras I reeled in a tuna head.

I’m starting to think this happens a lot more than we realize. Anyway, my fish was bigger than yours.

Question: Does a Great White Shark enjoy great white privilege?
