Only in America do people pay for re-education camps. I am glad I got out of college before this crap became mandatory. Total cost of Tulane is $70 K a year so assuming a normal eight courses per year that means students will be paying $8,750 for this course.

Another reason I recommend students start considering studying abroad.

So another institution admits that its standards are going down.
Way down.

In 1973 I was newly married and a new civil service employee at Lackland AFB. Everyone had to attend a session on civil rights.

It was chock full of lies, distortions and nonsense. About half way through, a Col. who was also a Dr. got up and left, saying as he left that he was not listening to any more of that garbage.

I wished I could have done the same.

They’ve also foisted themselves upon almost every engineering curriculum in the country as well. I visited one of my old Mechanical Engineering professors over the summer. He is now the Dean. He told me to be thankful that I went thru when I did. I asked: “Why’s that?” He showed me the new mechanical engineering curriculum and it has a whopping 18 semester-hours of SJW courses!!! I was shocked. That’s 18 semester-hours of of advanced engineering electives that have been replaced by this stupid azz BS. He told me they initially fought it hard, but in order to maintain the engineering school’s accreditation, they were forced to do it. I asked if the “advanced basket weaver” curriculums had to add 18 semester-hours of basic engineering in return. He said: “No.” and then just laughed and said: “None of em would ever pass”.
To a sharp young person today, I would recommend finding a really good trade school and learn a high-income trade. Then, get on out there and make some bucks. Screw these SJW courses and the horse they rode in on.
If your heart is truly set on engineering or any of the other advanced sciences degrees, I would also agree to looking at schools outside of the USA where this crap isn’t happening, and where you’d get your money’s worth. It’s just not going to happen stateside unless something drastic changes.

The massive cheap-money and debt bubble feeding the education-industrial complex means there is plenty of money for leftist parasites to feed on.

Some students may show up unaware that races are different or that it’s acceptable to show intolerance to other races or segregate on skin color.

Best to train them right away
1) “blacks go over there”, “whites in this corner”, “yellow people should avoid both those places”.
2) You aren’t wanted if you wander into a “different” group.
3) Now that you’re segregated into the correct groups let’s put a lot of effort into “getting along” and not showing the hate you all have for each other.
4) Make sure you are on the lookout for hatred. Examples include banana peels, rope, the plastic that holds six-packs together. Make sure to report the harassment if you see any of these things because this campus is full of racism.
5) If someone not your race says something, it is a microaggression, not friendly conserversation, no matter what it seems on the surface. (only valid if the speaker is white)

I see any number of non-diverse student organizations at Tulane in the list at the link. Better abolish such groups as the African American Women’s Society, the Asian American Student Union, the Chinese Students and Scholars Association and the National Society of Black Engineers for not promoting diversity in their ranks.

My alma mater has seen its last dollar from me. I always considered myself more of an alumnus of New Orleans anyway. I learned a lot more from the city than from the university.

Go to a community college your first two years. You bypass so much BS, you are 2 years older when you do transfer to a university, and best of all!…you might find a good 2 year certified technical program and you won’t have to go to a university but will still have a rewarding career.

How about a course highlighting the use of colleges and universities as Leftist Indoctrination centers?

Mercifully, Tulane was a different school when I was there in the 1970s. “Racial inclusion” was and is a fact of life in New Orleans, while Southern literature and history courses that I took at Tulane dealt with race in an organic and unsensational fashion. I assume that the new course requirement will instead provide a platform for racial propaganda and agitation.
