The Putin Oligarchy looks tame compared to the Soviets. It’s apparent the man loves his country and will further its’ interest to the extent he and the nation are able.

But to conflate the current despotic regime with the Soviets shows an abject ignorance of history.

If the latest round of pension reform protests from today are any indication...plus the regional runoff elections in which Communist Party is leading in many areas...it is the Russian people themselves who want the Soviet Union back.
