FULL TITLE: Bill Cosby, 81, is handcuffed and led straight to prison after a judge sentenced him to between three and 10 YEARS for drugging and assaulting a woman over a decade ago - and branded him a 'sexually violent predator'
Bill Cosby emerged from a Pennsylvania courtroom in handcuffs and was led straight to state prison on Tuesday after being sentenced to three to 10 years for drugging and molesting a woman more than a decade ago.
Judge Steven O'Neill handed down Cosby's sentence on Tuesday afternoon as the 81-year-old comedian sat back in his chair with his head on the headrest.
The comic who was once known as America's Dad was denied bail and escorted from the courtroom in handcuffs while carrying his walking stick.
'This was a serious crime. It is time for justice. Mr Cosby, this has all circled back to you. The time has come,' O'Neill said in sentencing him. 'No one is above the law, and no one should be treated differently.'
The punishment came at the end of a two-day hearing at which the judge also declared Cosby a 'sexually violent predator'.
The classification means that Cosby must undergo lifetime counseling and report quarterly to authorities. His name will also appear on a sex-offender registry sent to neighbors, schools and victims.
Cosby, who was also fined $25,000 and ordered to pay prosecution costs, declined the opportunity to address the court during his sentencing.
His wife of 54 years, Camille, was not in court during Cosby's sentencing.

Cosby got away with this stuff for decades. He damaged countless women with no remorse. Three years is hardly unfair.
She was in the room once. She was visiting Bill and a gal and the gal said she just stood up and walked out. So she knew it.
My brother pointed out to me that his former co-star Robert Culp once said that “Bill Cosby is the angriest man I’ve ever known”.
I think it's just Standard Operating Procedure unless your name is Bill Clinton or Mrs. Bill Clinton.

Is it a 10 year sentence with the opportunity for parole in 3?
I know that I'm being influenced by the public persona of Bill Cosby which we now know is a fraud. That's what I'm sorry isn't true - even though I often disagreed with his politics, I have liked Bill Cosby since I was a kid. Of course, I know nothing of the real Bill Cosby but Robert Culp appears to have hit it right on the head.

Sure but the next woman could start something now, and another 6 months later, etc and keep him in forever if he did this to even a fraction of the women rumored.
I don’t want him out in the general population. We deserve protection and people need to see justice, not matter how minuscule at this point.
He could have killed any number of those women. This is attempted murder every time. You don’t know these women’s health situations or tolerance or allergies or ANYTHING.

I honestly don’t think he’s dangerous.
So, does this mean Trump can’t make Cosby the next SCOTUS nominee? I mean, he is a black Democrat. That exempts him from #metoo crimes, right? Like Ellison.
