Full disclosure: I am a public school teacher, and I have never had a flu shot. I have taught for 36 years, and I have had the flu three times. I just had the flu a couple weeks ago, and missed one day of work. The fever was the worst symptom. Other symptoms persisted around seven days. I have a healthy immune system, so I don’t want to mess around with a government vaccine.

Bully for you...but you’re a teacher. If you missed that little work you likely were infectious while at school. You could have exposed staff, students. If the strain you had wasn’t one that was in the season’s vaccination, even people who had the vax could have been placed at risk by your behavior.

None of that ever occurred to you?!

If you had the flu a couple weeks ago, you made need to call the Guinness Book of World Records since the flu has been almost non-existent nationwide for the past two months. See below:
