Legal immigrants aka green card-holders, obviously yes. There were multiple times during the Iraq War, they were sworn in as US citizens while we were at war. Rumsfeld even swore in more than a few when he visited the front lines. The one group (as usual) the stupid liberal AP was referring to were the illegals..

Not if the immigrant recruit can't swear an absolute oath and allegiance to the flag of the United States and to all of its laws and swear to forsake any and all other oaths and allegiances to any other country or nation and can complete a battery of tests that show they know and understand our US Constitution and can communicate both in writing and speaking of the English language. If not then a big fat NO.
