"Maybe a black hole could form, and then suck in everything around it," he wrote.

Black holes are a construct of theoretical physics. They were postulated to explain why galaxies hold together. They've never been proven to exist.

When the math of black holes fell short, cosmologists invented dark matter to patch up their falsified theory. That too, is a purely theoretical construct, which will eventually be cast in the round file.

I highly doubt that the hadron collider could exceed the natural processes occurring naturally in the center of the Sun.

I think it does, actually, but in an extremely tiny volume.

I second that. I’m getting tired of waiting for the SMOD to rectify this mess.

Rip the fabric of space!

No, no, no.
It’s just putting it’s hand over space’s mouth and trying to get it’s bathing suit off. There needs to be an investigation! /s

"That in itself would be harmless. However under some hypotheses a strangelet could, by contagion, convert anything else it encounters into a new form of matter, transforming the entire earth in a hyperdense sphere about one hundred meters across."

I warned everyone about this from the very beginning but nobody would listen to me..........

So, about the size of a football field, then.

Still, this is huge, compared to the singularity.

And, that one was not just the earth, but every other particle of matter, anywhere and everywhere.

” when particles crash together could trigger a ‘phase transition’ that would rip the fabric of space”

We need to begin work immediately to build a gigantic sewing machine.

When I was working on a CERN project the rfp came in for a faster then light transmission of data to the various university’s that would study the results. Had to point that out.

“I think it does, actually, but in an extremely tiny volume.”

That’s what they tell us but nobody has ever been to the center of the Sun so that would be just a theory.

Yeah, and 100 ppm of CO2 can cause the ocean level to rise 100 meters. Thanks BenLurkin.
