I really like wrapping the tomatoes in newspaper to have fresh maters for quite a while. However, I only have a couple of cherry tomatoes this year.

Hubby planted a lot, but never staked them, and they really didn’t do very well.

I bet I had 500 tomatoes on my Heirloom Black Cherry...On a single plant.

I let them get about 8 feet and then they had to be folded down.

The taste is awesome. Grew from seed.

I saw people fighting with cages. FStaking is sooooo much better....my opinion. I used 1'x1"x3' wood stakes and then attached 6' ft plastic coated steel stakes to the wood stakes.

As the tomatoes got to be monsters, I tied the tops of the steel stakes criss crossing to support everything. It worked.

Wood stakes should be tossed. Wash down the steel stakes with clorox wipes or rubbing alcohol before you store them away.
