For all my FR, Zappa loving friends.

Thanks, I’ll check it out. Whatever he did before or after, IMHO he hit his all time peak in the 1980s.
I’m a fan of Steve Vai, hence I am impressed by his ability to just answer the never-ending Frank questions when he’s expecting an interview on his current tour, upcoming show, future studio plans, etc. He’s a better man than I.

Btw, I saw Zappa with Stevie vie as his second guitarist around then.
:^) I hope to see Steve in November.
One of the guitar mags (probably Guitar Player) used to ship with one of those flippy singles in each issue, and I had a roommate who subscribed. One of the records was a Frank track (I think two , actually) and the credit included “Impossible Guitar Part by Steve Vai”. :^)

Zappa is awesome! Thank you.
Thanks! That’s a great concert.
The 1988 Tour was great for us fans (I caught a show early in the tour) but bad for Frank. There was terrible infighting and the tour imploded shortly after this performance. It was the last time many of us got to see him live.
A few vets of this tour still play today...Ike Willis has several tribute bands (Project Object notably) and Mike Keneally has emerged as a prolific composer and bitchin guitarist (and keyboardist....sometimes simultaneously); Keneally splits his time between backing Joe Satriani and touring with a new Beer for Dolphins outfit. I met both of these guys and you can't meet a more humble group of superb musicians.
I don't want to stretch this too much, but Trump and Frank are two of the most "I really could care less what you think of me" guys to ever walk the planet.
Thanks for posting. I encourage you to check out Dweezil playing Eruption.
intrigued by Zappa, but thinking about him, you hear Linda Rondstadt songs on the radio far more often than any of his. There was talent, oh man talent, but I think he played to musicians and not to ordinary people. The real people who appreciate him are musicians
I saw Zappa in concert and it was a Twilight Zone experience. Not from the band or the music, but from the audience. I expected to see portals materializing for some of them. Near the entrance they had “amnesty buckets” for contraband that were 55 gallon drums, mostly full, with things you don’t normally see at concerts.
The young couple that sat near my on my row were strangely intimidating. Dressed like they were going to a senior prom (nowhere near that time of year), including her wearing a corsage. They spent the entire concert with their heads between their knees, power dragging what must have been the lowest grade marijuana ever. Machine rolled joints kept in a silver cigarette case.
Zappa did “Tied to the Whipping Post.”
It’s worth a listen.
Zappa may be the most underrated composer/musician/performer of all time...
I clicked in to find out who Frank Zappa is. Was.
bkmk
There’s enough written about the fight among the kids to place blame where it belongs, on Gail, their mother, who made the split uneven and gave control to two and (for all practical purposes) none to the other two. I’d pretend to care, but Dweezil has called Republicans “evil”, so I wouldn’t give a **** if Ahmet-Vomit sued him into debtor’s prison. Ultimately they’re just an untalented bunch of entitled entertainment industry nitwit larvae who get far too much attention.
For later.
I saw him perform live 4 or 5 times. Incredible music.
