Check out Amorphis for a good mix of clean singing and guttural vocals.

I’ve heard Rundgren samples now and again quite a bit, but the only thing I really liked was “Feet Don’t Fail Me Now” with Utopia. If you know of any other of his material that falls into the must-listen category, fill me in!

Ha, I have Amorphis back when they used to growl most of the time. They started to do mostly clean vocals? They were like Finnish or at least Scandinavian or something.

That’s like being the least stinky turd in the septic tank.
There’s almost nothing made by the Western music industry post-1992 that’s worth listening to.

Sorry, misread you post. I just can’t get past the guttural vocal. Sepultura was the farthest I could go with it.

Johnny Rivers career total is 9 Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and 17 in the Top 40 from 1964 to 1977; he has sold well over 30 million records.
He's never been nominated.

MC5 were about fifteen years ahead of their time, honestly. Truly the prototype of the punk bands of the ‘80s, except the MC5’s musicianship was better.
And let’s be real. Rob Tyner’s epic Jewfro should get them into the RRHOF on its own. That thing was TIGHT.

They’re from Finland.

I saw them recently with Omnium Gatherum, Moonspell (which I sat out) and Dark Tranquility. Was a great show.
Their current singer joined in 2004. He’s a great singer.

I always called ‘em Rage Against Daddy’s Trust Fund But Buy My Records First. Bunch of Southern California middle-class kids pretending like they were some sort of Sandinistas.
Could they rock out? Yeah. They did some songs that are great to rock out to and maybe break stuff. But RRHOF? The only way they should be in the RRHOF is if they buy admission.
MC5 should be in. Rage? Pfft.

Ha, I think I have two albums which have to be way before 2004 I am thinking. Finnish death metal on FR. You never know, hahah.
Looking at metal archives you posted I think I have ‘tales from a 1000 lakes’ and ‘story’.

All great artists - but I have no idea how they'd choose one over the other. If one of these acts is worthy of enshrinement, they all should be - I had great times listening to all of them.
Here's a blistering live version of "Uncontrollable Urge" performed by Devo in France back in 1978. I was in middle school, but listening to this now I can still remember why I loved these guys and their music.
And Radiohead is one of the best bands that I've heard during my lifetime - 'Kid A' is definitely in my top 5 albums of all time.

The Tubes “Remote Control” (Rundgren produced) and “Young and Rich” are my two favorite albums.
Most don’t even know they exist.
Young and Rich has some remarkable gems like “Brighter Day” and “Young and Rich”. Their more experimental second album.
Remote Control is INCREDIBLE front to back.

Whenever I hear a song and think to myself, “I can play better than these guys...” it’s usually the MC5.
