I would like to point out a key issue in his homelessness... it is in NORTHERN ONTARIO.

There are many more beneficial local climates in which one could be homeless, and eliminate the survival concern of not freezing to death during ~1/2 of each year. I’m sure he could hitch a ride to one.

Yes, but all homeless franchises for highway exits in Phoenix are taken.

According to Wikipedia he lived on the streets of Costa Rica for a year before they deported him back to Canada.

In 2017, Murphy was living in Costa Rica but was deported back to Canada. “When he did go to Costa Rica, he was homeless, living on the streets,” said Rick Kozuback, Murphy’s junior hockey coach in Penticton, British Columbia. “We worked with the consulate, trying to get him help, getting him out of there. He didn’t want to at the time. But he ended up being forced to leave.”
