The squeegee kids are going to have some company starting as early as next week.

I remember running the gauntlet of squeegee men in Manhattan in the pre-Guilani days.

I really really don’t like people approaching my car. There is nothing good that will result.

Reminds me of driving in Tijuana years back. You keep saying “no, no, no” and they still splash the dirty water on your windshield.

The TV report kept referring to them as “teens”—I guess Baltimore TV hasn’t figured out that everyone knows who “teens” are.

“...the Downtown Partnership will begin placing unarmed security guards at busy intersections...”

Thank goodness the squeegee peeps aren’t smart enough to move down to the next, unguarded, intersection.

The article said that the guards will "calm" the interactions between the squeegee kids and the motorists. But there is no mention about how that will be done.

I dont know a thing about the “in the street” squeegee business, but I did sell newspapers at intersections of my hometown at age 7-8 during summers.

A few months ago, I called out a bunch of kids who were stealing squeegees from a Baltimore gas station. They talked like the concept of buying something was totally foreign concept.

We hit a stoplight under a bridge coming into New Orleans one night last week. Two squeegie kids approached our car. Oddly, they decided that our vehicle was better left alone. It’s hard to figure why...

Sounds like Juarez in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s. You could barely drive the streets without being swarmed by kids trying to 1) “wash” the windshield; or 2) getting “hit” so they could claim injury on your insurance.
