About two-thirds of Americans would not pass the test required to become a United States citizen, a new survey says.
Just 39 percent of Americans can pass a multiple choice test with questions taken from the U.S. Citizenship Test, according to a report by The Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. The test has a passing score of 60.

Why bother if you’re already a citizen
I have long advocated that all voters be required to pass this or a similer test before voting.
Thanks to our Dr Goebbels government indoctrination dept.
I’d like to see this test.
perhaps they shouldn’t be allowed to vote then.
We’ve spent a lifetime studying American history in school, and living it.
I don’t think a “test” equates to that, for “Americanization”, in any way.
It’s like saying a GED is “equivalent” to four years of high school...ridiculous.
It was all invented for AA, and EEO purposes.
“2 of 3”
Mostly Democrat voters, I’d wager.
OR NEED TO.
But Common Core will assure than NO ONE will EVER be able to, ever again.
And we allow these people to vote....
I doubt if 9 out of 10 above the age of 25 could pass a driver’s test. And the only reason those under 25 could possibly be better is because of driver’s ed in many high schools.
Hell, too many folks can barely read, right, rithmatic.
Ever been to East St. Louis? How about East LA?
Hell, go to Miami and try to find someone that speaks English.
Ought to be mandatory before voting. Renew every 6 years.
This is BS based on the fact most Americans learned all that many years ago, some many decades ago...And since they’re legitimate citizens, there is no need to take the test in the first place.
On the other hand, someone wanting entry no doubt learned all this very recently and should be able to pass it.
The article is simply an attempt to slander Americans as stupid with the false implications that the test for foreigners should be made easier.
I am a retired physics teacher now tutoring adults for their GEDs. Believe me, the exams require much more than your average public high school.
Think about it. Do not our representatives deserve to hold office with a foundation of citizens who know what citizenship is and can articulate it?
Well said Frank. My thoughts too.
My daughter was born in Berlin Germany and is a US citizen.
I don’t think she would pass the test but <i know she would have fun doing it.
In addition to this being a BS report/survey, it’s been created by the AH leftist from academia land.
Its less them, than the state departments of education, colleges of education, and local public education edifice. Its all a disaster and needs some basic competition to weed out the incompetent.
