I’m sure there are lots of people like yourself who do respond to pollsters. From a statistical viewpoint, that would make sense. However, I would bet that the majority of respondents are skewed toward the Takers.

Many people are preoccupied with other things or just don’t like answering a lot of questions from anyone. The same thing is basically true with respect to other types of polls. The response rate is typically very low.

Does that thing really work? Do you have one?

I have one, and it works. If you hook it up in series with your phone the first ring does not go through. If it is a number you have blocked in the past, it hangs up on them. If it is a number that never called before it rings through on the second ring.

I have had it for almost two years now and have 709 numbers blocked. A couple of phone calls get blocked every day.

I have an Ooma too, but an older model than this one.

You connect it to your router and a phone. I use it with Google Voice to make free long distance calls. I check calls that get blocked on my phone display and any calls I am unsure of I call back on the Ooma to make sure I am not blocking a number I didn’t mean to block. Sometimes I get an answer and it’s a scam company. Sometimes I get “This number is no longer in service,” meaning it was a spoofed number. I have never blocked a number I didn’t mean to block.

I don’t tell them anything.

I figure once they know how I really think, they be looking for a way to use that to scr#w me. Facebook does it with their advertising. Politician will do it with their polls information.
