I guess they were able to turn off or ignore the hunger pangs somehow or just get used to them.
*********
If you cut carbs and sugar to the bone and eat proteins, fats and veggies you will not feel hunger as your body will switch from sugar fuel to ketones... even if you operate at a calorie deficit you will not feel hunger as your body will seamlessly use your body fat for fuel. Eating in a restricted time period increases the amount of time that you have little or no insulin produced... insulin creates and stores fat out of any extra calories you consume.. you can’t lose weight if you’re eating 3 meals a day AND snacking ,, no matter how calorie deficient the total consumption is you never have a time period where your body gets a rest from insulin.

Well, when you are doing heavy duty skin diving you will lose weight almost no matter how much you eat. But it has to be HEAVY DUTY skin diving. I mean like a minimum of 4 hours of constant diving. Something I used to do when I lived in La-La Land and dived the kelp beds while spearfishing. One summer I spent about every day in a month spearfishing and on those days I would dive from early early morning into the afternoon.

I lost at least 25 pounds that month alone.

I’ve tried the Keto diet and will likely try it again. It’s an expensive diet for sure but it does have its benefits. You may disagree but I don’t think it’s healthy to stay on it more than a couple of months (at most) at a time then go back to regular but reduced carb diet for at least a month before returning to Keto for another month or two.

No one really knows for sure so all we can do is gather the info available and make the best educated guess we can at what will work best. No one diet is best for everyone so some trial and error is bound to happen on this journey.

You can lose weight even if you ‘snack” if you stay away from junk carbs. No breads or fruits etc. but I agree, there should be about 10-12 hours with no food. Sleep helps! And snack should mean protein.
