If this song is within a subscription catalog such as ASCAP, it is legally available to use for yearly subscription fee (along with thousands of others). But... since the estate is asking politely, it would be easy to move along to a less schleppy, mildewed rock ballad. Purple Rain is a tired old overplayed tune that ranks right down there with Freeburd, Frampton, and Stairway.

Maybe something with a heartbeat would be better.
