You got a very decent education unlike so many people in America these days - better than mine although we are the same age generally. This is why we always complain about Free Republic in the last 10 or so years.

For a non-theare major, I did get a truly remarkable education in that area as an English major. And my lit classes were also really above what any Ivy college now serves up to Masters and PhD. degree students. But then, I went to college when teachers were still just teaching their subjects. ;^)

Just pull one of the three volume set of A.L. Rowse's ANNOTATED SHAKESPEARE. The print, of Kean as Othello has him in a tunic and bi8g hoop earrings, but no, no hint of anything Negroid. There are tons of other photos and prints illustrating that play, throughout that chapter and though there was one black actor, Ira Adldrige, who played Othello in the late nineteen century, in America, that didn't "stick".

And whilst Othello is called "black", remember that back then Cleopatra was called "dusky" and she was a pure blood GREEK. Words have been used differently over time.

It isn't whether someone went to college, has a post grad degree...anyone can be well educated by just reading on their own. Too few bother to do that/educate themselves; sadly.
