Nevada brothel owner Dennis Hof dies at 72
LAS VEGAS - Nevada brothel owner, TV show star, and candidate for the state legislature, Dennis Hof, has died, according to his campaign manager.
Chuck Muth announced the death Tuesday morning. He says he passed away at his Love Ranch South brothel. Nye County officials haven't confirmed his passing yet.
He was known nationwide for his role in the HBO series "Cathouse," which documented the lives of the workers in his half-a-dozen Nevada brothels.
His brothel empire started with his purchase of the Moonlite Bunny Ranch in 1992. He was well-known for his proposing that the brothels be taxed by the state. Nye County officials had recently closed the Love Ranch South brothel which was reopened after a win in court.
Hof was recently ran a successful campaign in the primary election for Assembly District 36. He was facing Democrat Lisa Romanov in the November general election.
He was 72-years-old.

I believe you have a very uninformed idea of what the legal brothels in Nevada are. You should read up on them.

He probably would have won. He lost 16k to 10k as a libertarian running against an incumbent Republican in 2016 with no Dem in that race. He is in a conservative part of Nevada. He might win this race as his name will stay on the ballot.
But this is why you should always have candidates of your party on the ballot. You never know when your opponent is going to drop dead.

So, it’s a safe GOP seat but a rat is running (Hof ran as a Libertarian last time, no democrat ran and the Republican incumbent beat him 61-39% He felled the incumbent in a 3 way primary this year). I presume it’s too late to replace him so we’re looking at a posthumous election followed by a special?
Apparently so. Hof will probably posthumously win the general, so he’ll have that under his belt. Won’t help him much with Judgment Day, which already came and went (much like his clientele).
A lot I hate for him on this thread. I couldn’t care less about his pimpin’. If he was on our side politically, may God keep his soul.
His line of work may have been legal, but morally questionable. Ultimately, we all have to answer to Him for what we’ve done.
Actually do not know who he is, but as you said, if he was on our side, it’s a bad thing to lose him.
If he was a player on the other side, then it’s a win.

Not everyone is.
But he was on OUR side, evidently. And he provided a service - a LEGAL service - that people wanted.
Nobody forces anyone to go see a prostitute, and nobody is forcing those women to do what they do. I’d rather pay a hooker than see my money go to democrat politicians to give away to parasites. At least I’d be getting something in return.
That’s the thing about living in Freedom... people get to make choices for themselves and what they want to do with their lives to make a living and survive.
