On my ASUS Zenbook, I received & installed 1809 with ZERO problems.

Zero problems on three of my systems here at home too.

The oldest machine I have is an older AMD FX-8350 on an ASUS 990 Series Motherboard. This thing is at least 8 years old now and Windows 10 updated flawlessly. This old machine has been a beast since the day I put it together and is my "workhorse" even though I have a new i7 sitting right next to it. Nothing - and I mean NOTHING stops this thing.

I’ve been running 1809 since Oct 4th.

It works great on all my Windows 10 systems (2 HP Probook laptops, a Sony Vaio Tap 20, and several virtual machines).

I had Microsoft Office 2007 that worked great and outlived my old computer. Probably the best part of it (IMO) was the way Outlook worked for managing email. I found it very easy to add pictures and notes for construction projects in the text of messages or reports without making the reader click through a list of attachments. I also liked the easy of creating files and searching for old messages by using the sender's name.

When I bought my new computer it came with W-10 that has a few nice features but after loading all my old hard drive stuff on the new computer we could not make Outlook work. I was tortured by Microsoft help line people in Sri Lanka or India who I spent hours with...HOURS WITH listening to their upgrade sales and promotions speels. But, no one could make it work with Outlook. We down loaded a separate Outlook Mail program with no success. Everyone I talked with at Microsoft went straight into a new speel about my need to buy upgrade products but no one could make their own email program work.

Not only do they sell hard, THEY LIE. One of the take over artists told me that his diagnostic scan showed I have over 200 corrupted links and malware attempts on my new computer that was less than 36 hours old.

I did what I could to learn to use other email programs and found ProtonMail to be safe and secure, but still not as simple to apply to my construction business.

Then after about three months the WORD program quit working.

Once again, the only solution Microsoft could offer was for me to spend more money. In the end it was the guys at Geek Squad that figured out how to install a patch to help Microsoft read it's own software!

Many years ago I had to call Microsoft many times for an on going problem.

I finally got so frustrated I said to the rep,”Am I going to have to call Redmond,Washington directly about this?”

He replied,”I’m sorry Ma’am,I don’t know who he is.”

I use Windows 7 on my desktop pc and have Office 2016 which I got thru the company for a discount for $19.95 with the software on a usb drive. Beats paying $400!

The newer Office 2019 requires Windows 10 only.
A word doc, excel files would be the same but this is Microsofts way of pushing everyone to Windows 10.

“Old” version 2016
