To get an emigration visa, in RSA, you must pay a certain sum ( it's not cheap!) for each LOTTERY TICKET ( it is a real lottery...they pick tickets out of a hat; well, not really "a hat", out of a bin or where the tickets are kept ) and each person who wants to leave must have a separate ticket. That means that if a family wants to leave, A TICKET FOR EACH MEMBER HAS TO BE BOUGHT;there is no such thing as a "family ticket"!
If your ticket isn't pulled and you still want to leave, you have to buy another ticket and wait for the next time that the lottery is held.
