When are people going to learn to hold their phone sideways when shooting video?

went to a reunion and this woman asked me to take a few pictures of her and her friends.
I turned the thing sideways and she started yelling at me for holding it wrong.
I told her to chill out and when she saw the full screen full body and large full frame shots she loved them..

I have told many to hold horizontally, but phones do not allow that for some reason
