The concentric circles are in twelve sections. (2x6 system, as are our clocks, compasses, etc.) If one starts at the (later-inserted red arrow), there are 3 1/12th sections clockwise, then a 90-degree outward cut, with a dot (for a decimal point), then a single 1/12th section, then 4, then 1, etc., representing ultimately the number 3.141592654, which is π out to 9 decimal places.
