Yes, actually she did talk about all of this in an interview!! That’s how I knew about this. This was at least 10 to 15 years ago. I remember reading the interview and being very surprised.
Looking back, I shouldn’t have been surprised. At the time I naively assumed that black teenagers in bad Chicago schools would be thrilled to have Oprah help them do better in school, go to college etc.
