Somewhat on topic, but do you ever see a black chick with their natural curls anymore? 99.9% of the ones I see (and I live in Eastern NC and I see a lot) have their hair unnaturally straightened? Like a white gals hair. Just an observation.
That, in black chick land, is referred to as a “perm”.
And it is interesting to note that once such a perm is applied, the black chick can no longer wash her hair or get it wet, or she will lose that perm.
The hair is instead maintained with Pink Moisturizer, sold by Sally Beauty Supply, to extend the life of the perm.
Black women have been straightening their hair since the invention of the pressing comb.
Some sported afros for a while during the 60s and 70s, but that was a short lived fashion that quickly played out.
