Curt Schilling is a central player in the story of the 2004 Boston Red Sox.
His bloody sock game in Game 6 of the American League Championship series that saw the Red Sox rally from a 3-0 deficit against the New York Yankees en route to their first World Series title in 86 years is the stuff of baseball lore.
Schilling is also a pariah in large circles. The former Philadelphia Phillies, Arizona Diamondbacks and Red Sox great has chosen to spend his retirement years espousing radical, sometimes racist political opinions.

Lots of people outside of Rhode Island don't know that a few years ago the Schilling family made $75 million of Rhode Island taxpayers' money disappear.During this debacle two Rhode Island state legislators, one a Rat and the other a Republican, received death threats while investigating "38 Studios".
A good friend of mine was unlucky enough to get involved in that but now everything's been resolved for him...he was completely innocent.
Unless I'm mistaken (which is possible) the Schillings are still being investigated by the SEC.

I read the article to find his "offenses":
- While hosting a radio show for far right-wing media outlet Breitbart in 2017, Schilling invited white supremacist and anti-Semitic congressional candidate Paul Nehlen as a guest. Breitbart later distanced itself from the podcast archive that was eventually deleted in which Schilling provided a platform for Nehlan, a man who regularly used the phrase during his campaign Its OK to be white, a motto adopted by the Ku Klux Klan.
- He was taken off ESPN's Little League World Series broadcasts after comparing Muslims to Nazis on Twitter.
- 2016 tweet supporting T-shirts that suggest lynching members of the media.
Yep, he's obviously an insane right wing kook (/s). None of these things would have gotten a radical leftist the heave-ho.

The Red Sox and Foxs might not like him. But Red Sox Nation adores him. His bloody sock will go down in Red Sox lore.

Re the comments, here are a great pair!
Mozzie - “Remember when sports was a getaway from life and politics?”
Dave - “Remember the days when “Yahoo Sports” was about sports?”

The article gives exactly two examples of his poltical incorrectness, namely:
This is not the first time Schillings politics have gotten in the way of his role in the sports landscape. ESPN fired Schilling from his job as an analyst in 2016 when his Facebook post on the North Carolina bathroom debate proved to be the last straw for the network after his frequent controversial social media posts. He was previously taken off the networks Little League World Series broadcasts after comparing Muslims to Nazis on Twitter.
Most Americans don't want men who merely claim they are women following their wives and daughters into public toilets.
Most mainstream Muslims have identical views as Nazis toward our Jewish friends and neighbors.
That's the fact, Jack!

Schilling provided a platform for Nehlan, a man who regularly used the phrase during his campaign Its OK to be white, a motto adopted by the Ku Klux Klan. It's no longer considered OK to be white?
To: FreeReign
Nope. If “It’s OK to be white” is FALSE, then the converse “it’s ok to be nonwhite must be TRUE.”

heaven forbid a sports hero should turn out to be a bit..... conservative..... forget what he did before, now he will be OSTRACIZED....

How many of Schilling’s former teammates complained about him not being included?

The former Philadelphia Phillies, Arizona Diamondbacks and Red Sox great has chosen to spend his retirement years espousing radical, sometimes racist political opinions. In other words, a conservative radio talk show host for Breitbart.
