High School Guidance Counselors have been complicit in the everybody should go to college nonsense.
__________
It’s the best way to indoctrinate students and keep professors with strange and useless majors employed.
Don't wind me up. Back in the 1970s, I'd almost finished my Math Masters because the state college was going to begin offering majors in academic subjects instead of just education. The faculty voted it down, and everyone who only had a few courses more to go (or had enough credits in anticipation of the change) had to take 15 hours of education courses! Colleges being in the business of keeping professors employed at student expense goes back that far.
