"This explains a great deal, for it is not only true that these gifts and contracts, in some instances, are intended to influence students and faculty experts views on the kingdom; it is also true that these gifts and contracts are intended to influence students and faculty experts views on Islam, jihad and Sharia."

Obamas Russia Problem: Obama's Links to Soviet-era Spy Rings and Terrorist Networks
On November 2, 1979, [Vernon] Jarretts Chicago Tribune column reported that Arab nations were planning to build closer ties to American blacks by financing black leaders and institutions. In the article, Jarrett quoted Black Panther cofounder Khalid Abdullah Tariq al-Mansour (Donald Warden), who was now a lawyer for OPEC at his law firm of Holmes and Warden and was in contact with Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal. Al-Mansour had presented OPEC with a proposal to provide $20 million a year for 10 years to aid 10,000 minority students annually. Civil rights leader Percy Sutton later said he was introduced to Obama by al-Mansour when al-Mansour wrote to him about Obamas Harvard application, asking him to write a letter of recommendation for Obama. Obama and al-Mansour later denied Suttons story. But although Obama denied even knowing al-Mansour, al-Mansour claimed that he knew Obama when researcher Ken Timmerman contacted him. Timmerman was prompted to follow up on the story after Suttons 2009 death when one Kevin Wardally claimed to deny Suttons story on behalf of Suttons estate. Timmerman contacted Suttons son and daughter, who stated that no one in their family knew Wardally or had authorized him to speak on their fathers behalf.
US Universities Have Taken Over $614,000,000 From Saudi Arabia the CIA Since 2011
There, fixed it.
Rockefeller -> oil. Just babysteps in time there.
Thank you.
Universities go a-whoring. How surprising. They love their cash more than their leftism.
Yep. My youngest son got a PhD fellowship from Saudis. Backfired on them. He now uses his Arabic to hunt down terrorists.
Take a look at the boards of the name universities. They are filled with CEOs and people with a tremendous amount of money, and the ultimate focus of most university administrations is to make more and more money for the university. Harvard has an endowment of ~$39.2 billion. That's money over and above their annual revenues and independent of their operating costs. And, Harvard is tax exempt - federal and state tax. It's way, way, way past time that these places pay 'their fair share'.
bump
That’s just some of the over the table money. Many “islamic centers” (AKA mosques) have been built on campuses along with very generous operating funds.
Most of the cash came from the Muslim Brotherhood financers, guys like AlAweed. Guys who MBS is trying to stop. With help from Kushner and Trump.
Not any more.
Picture a mad scramble at wealthy private colleges and universities in the days after the Republican tax reform plan passed Congress, as officials scurried to find ways to dodge or minimize the new excise tax on their endowments. With the legislation kicking in for taxable years starting after Dec. 31, there would have been little time to lose. The tax reform package places an annual 1.4 percent excise tax on net investment income at an estimated several dozen colleges and universities. Specifically, the tax will apply to institutions with at least 500 students and net assets of $500,000 per student. That includes some of the nation's wealthiest colleges, such as Harvard, Stanford and Princeton Universities, but also some that fall under the tax in large part because they have relatively small student bodies, such as Claremont McKenna College. source
Admittedly, 1.4% is a pittance, but the camel's nose is in the tent. Write your reps and tell them to up the rate.
Why do you think all of these little colleges changed their names to universities ? It was to attract foreign, full pay students from the Middle East.
When I was in college the Iranian government was sending their Navy Midshipmen to our University. This went on for years until the Shah got the boot.
Secondary Education is a big business. I am still surprised there are people who believe the altruistic Bullshit they spew in their publications.
