This is a great first step. Almost no other country allows this arcane practice. Way past time to end it and several other bad faith immigration practices.

“subject to the jurisdiction” is a great clarifier.

Just need to work it backwards on those that already abused this.

Within the past 15 years, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia have revolked this ridiculous practice of rewarding children of lawbreaking parents with citizenship. European countries have never done this because it is a really stupid idea. That would also neatly solve the problem of another stupid practice, chain migration. That alone would save Americans billions of dollars in not having to support indigents who come in that way.

babies of foreign nationals are not subject to the jurisdiction of the USA by fact the parents are subjects of another country and are applying for temporary asylum, not citizenship.

The president knows the RATS will take this to the courts, but besides being something that’s long overdue, this is a brilliant political move. The DNC and other top of the food chain RATS have been telling their candidates and those running for re-election to Congress to keep their mouths shut about immigration. This EO will force them to admit they’re all for illegal immigration because their Hispanic base will turn on them if they don’t, but a lot of fence sitters will vote R because of this. I think it’s safe to say the president dropped an October Surprise on the Dems and the Deep State Repukes!

Trump also needs to issue an E/O to protect US taxpayers from foolish immigration laws that say we foot their travel bills when these so-called “terrified asylum seekers” go back to visit their war-torn homelands.

Do it. Even if the Judiciary overturns it, it is a poltical battle worth fighting.

Some time in politics having the fight, even if you lose, is better then conceding the field to the enemy.

It was never the intention of those who wrote the 14th amendment to allow the children of illegal invaders to be granted automatic citizenship. Wikipedia, Google, the mainstream media and all those claiming that this was the intention of the 14th amendment are lying. This has been an intentional misinterpretation of the law.

"and subject to the jurisdiction thereof"

The second most ignored phrase of the Constitution, just behind "shall not be infringed."

The 14th Amendment was never intended to apply to the children of illegal aliens.

About time some one tried to correct this.

Bush League Republicans would not.

There are non-citizens who come here just to have their baby be born a U.S. citizen. Once the child is born, they apply and receive a U.S. passport for the child and fly back home to raise the new U.S. citizen. Some may stay, but some don’t.
