Because they hate freedom and people who can’t be controlled.
Democrats have always hated freedom and lusted after control. They used to operate this with national rationalizations (slavery, segregation, systematic discrimination) but now use global rationalizations. To them now they prefer the people of the globe (minus Europe) over the deplorable Americans.
