Not on my radar to be even in the running.
The progress of the story was (for me at any rate) entirely too predictable.
I have a limited tolerance for horror, and if I am to watch it then I want surprises in the story.
The Exorcist didn’t provide me with surprises.
I agree with you about The Ex having no surprises.
Two that were better at that, IMO, were Rosemary’s Baby and The Omen.
