This man was the father this kid needed to have given him an ass-kicking to years ago.

It may cost him his job, but I get it. Mouthy little MF’er

“Just the fact that he’s hitting a child — it’s not right,”

What’s “not right” is that their are too many moms, and not enough dads.

I kinda like the idea of the schools making it OK to punch some punk.

Seems to me Mr. Riley proved the student right as opposed to proving him wrong

Excellent point. BTTT

You are not allowed to punch someone for calling you bad word. Any word. You can decide you’re pissed off enough to accept the consequences, but don’t expect there not to be consequences just because the word really makes you mad.

Don’t forget. A student *of color* can use the N word word freely amongst his peers. God forbid that a cracker uses it, however.

I would agree for any city schools. But it does depend on the locale.

That being said I looked into possibly teaching as I’m getting burned out in the corporate rat race and determined it would be better to risk buying my own business. I’d never be able to deal with the political and PC nonsense - it’s much worse then the already overbearing office environments.

Calling someone the “N” word - or any other word for that matter - does not give the target license to beat up the person saying it. But the person saying it should not be surprised if they end up getting punched or beaten for saying it.

Maywood Academy High School

The ‘tell’ is in the name of the school. If a relatively new school has ‘Academy’ in the name, it’s a tipoff as to the kind of students it contains.

Black people refer to each other using the N word all the time. It’s a term of endearment.

Maybe the student was just “identifying” as a Black student.

I can guarantee that if a black student referred to the teacher using that word, that the teacher would have hugged him rather than slug him.

Hugs not slugs.

To defend him is to dehumanize him. Says he doesn’t have the ability to refrain from wrong behavior.

If liberalism weren’t stupid, it would recognize this.

Imagine what the feral savages would have done if the teacher were white.

As a college professor I’ve often wondered how I would handle a similar situation of an out of control student. I hope that I would simply remind that student that I hold the power of my grade book in my hands. But I teach college, not high school.

Yes, and if there’s a “Math” or “Science” in the name, then you know it’s really a s-hole.
