I can understand that. My default principle is that I have nothing my husband isn’t welcome to see. If I want to surprise him at Christmas, I can just say, “Please don’t go in my closet: I bought you something and don’t have it wrapped yet.”
That approach works too! Basically, never try to hide anything, that way it can’t be “discovered”!
