The largest Burmese python ever seen in South Florida wasn't able to slither her way out of being captured earlier this week.
A snake hunter captured the female snake while on South Florida Water Management District property in Miami-Dade County Monday night, the agency announced in a press release Wednesday.
Homestead resident Kyle Penniston was credited for reeling in the elongated reptile, which was measured at 17 feet, 5 inches and weighed in at 120 pounds, according to the SFWMD.

17 feet? That’s a lot of shoes! Sounds like we need a government program to subsidize shoes for snakes.
Don’t euthanize feral cats. Neuter them, feed them only python meat for a week and then release them in the Everglades. They will get into the nests of the snakes and even win a few battles with the big ones. Cats are ferocious, wily hunters.

There was a time Florida didn’t have any Burmese pythons - but liberals wanted pet stores to be able to sell them because ‘we all want to be free’ BS... Then the stores refused to take the snakes back without paying a fee - so people here ‘let them loose’.
Florida still allows pet stores to sell horrible snakes and lizards that live here and make populations of our native species miserable. We have lizards here that can kill cats and dogs...

But we are still grumpy because we know where this crap will lead to. Heads of mush were pre programed while we slept.
